A different era of menswear ft. HENDRIXROE s/s 2017

WELL! WELL! WELL!  Another very well deserved standing ovation for miss Jordan Erin Mckay, creative director of luxury menswear brand Hendrixroe. A label named after two icons, Jimi Hendrix and Marilyn Monroe,  it’s no surprise that this fashion show would turn out to be iconic as them both. 

 During my time as a blogger, I’ve made a total of 4 out of 5 seasons of Men’s fashion week in Toronto since the launch of TOM* Toronto Men’s Fashion Week in 2014, this is the first time I have ever seen a standing ovation happen… not once…but TWICE consecutively. #GURRRRRRRRRRRl you must be doing something right.

This label has a very similar aesthetic to Balmain, But… with a Rockstar twist! A combination super luxurious cashmeres, suedes , leathers while still keeping everything from the pants to the jackets well tailored. This seasons collection had the perfect combination of neutral tones and pops of colours. thus, catering to both the everyday man and the individual who is looking for an eye catching red carpet look.This isn’t your average super boring preppy menswear brand guys!! Quite frankly, I will seriously #yawn if I see another one of those basic (as hell) preppy checkered blazers and pant sets down the next menswear fashion show I attend. I’ve noticed, that there’s clearly a huge lack of creativity when it comes to menswear. It REALLY doesn’t have to be that boring people. Don’t get me wrong, I still love wear and respect the menswear staples. However, I’m glad to see that Hendrixroe is one of the brands that is FINALLY providing a fresh and creative outlook to a market  that hasn’t been chanced in hundreds of year.
