Balmain Spring/Summer 2017 | Paris Prêt-à-porter Homme #PFW

The #Balmain show is always my most anticipated fashion show for Paris Fashion Week. Monsieur Olivier Rousting creative director since 2011, is known for making some of the world’s most covetable luxury fashion for both men and women. Being a self-proclaimed luxury addict myself, I’m ALWAYS being asked the same question… “What is your favorite brand?” Balmain typically falls #1 on my list, Balmain being one of my all-time favorites. You can imagine my excitement when this year’s menswear S/S 2017 took place. #IWASGAGING

Born, raised and currently living in the city of Toronto. You are probably aware that our winters are VERY LONG, harsh and last for 7-8 months. As a result, Canadian fashion is typically dark and consist of head to toe black a majority of the year. Even in the summer months, a large portion of our industry still wears black out of habit.

Now that the warmer months are upon us, the pops of colour from this collection have now inspired me to take advantage of the summer and finally wear some colour. The pops of orange! The pops of turquoise! The pops royal blue! The detail! The craftsmanship! The shoes! The accessories! I love every about this collection!!!

Considering the fact that there was 80 looks in yesterday’s show, it was super difficult for me to pick a favorite. After much contemplation, my pick this season was without a doubt look 59. The turquoise, blood orange, and lilac geometrical cut robe paired with the collection signature tassel chain necklace. The turquoise quilted suede moto jacket form look 58 also stood out for me. I need both in my life as soon as humanly possible. Oliver, are you reading this?

The Balmain S/S 2017 is now my favorite Menswear fashion show from Paris Fashion Week this season. I really question if Oliver can make a collection that I hate? And what else this talented man has hidden up his sleeves?
